How to check QC photos before your haul ships: a checklist for clothing and shoes, what GL and RL mean, and what to do when an item fails.
QC photos are your one chance to see the real item before it leaves China. Once your parcel ships, returns are hardly possible. A few minutes with this checklist can save you from paying international shipping on something that doesn't fit or looks off.
What are QC photos?
QC means quality check. When your item arrives at your agent's warehouse, staff weigh it, inspect it and take photos. Those photos show your actual piece, not the seller's ad pictures. They usually show up within a day or two of arrival.
How many photos you get depends on the agent. At the time of writing (October 2026):
Superbuy includes free inspection photos. Extra detail photos cost CN¥2 each, a detailed inspection CN¥5.50 per item and a product video CN¥20.
JoyaGoo says every item gets a quality check with free HD photos.
GTBuy usually sends 3 to 5 photos (front, back, label), according to third party reviews.

See QC photos before you order
You don't have to wait for your own order. Many finds on coppd show QC photos from earlier orders by other buyers, taken in agent warehouses. Look for the QC badge on a find and open the QC photos tab. You can also paste any Taobao or Weidian link into the link converter, and it shows existing QC photos when there are some.
Earlier QC tells you what the seller usually ships. Your own QC tells you what you're actually getting. Check both.
Measurements. Ask for photos with a tape measure on the chest (pit to pit), the length and, for pants, the waist. Compare with the size chart. A difference of 1 to 3 cm is normal. Need help with the chart? Read how to read a Chinese size chart.
Stitching. Lines should be straight and even, with no loose threads, skipped stitches or puckered seams.
Prints, logos and embroidery. Compare placement, alignment, spacing and font with the listing photos. A crooked print won't get straighter in the mail.
Color. Warehouse lighting can shift colors. If the shade looks off compared with the listing, ask for a photo in daylight.
Stains and flaws. Zoom in on the collar, cuffs and hem. Look for stains, holes, glue marks and broken zippers.
Size tag. Check that the tag shows the size and color you ordered.
QC checklist for shoes
Shape. Look at the side profile and the toe box. Compare the toe box with the listing photos. It shouldn't look bulky or flat.
Heel. Check the heel shape from behind and from the side.
Glue. Look along the midsole line for glue stains. Small spots may not bother you, heavy smears are worth an exchange.
Sole. Check the sole pattern and color. Ask for a photo of the bottom if it's missing.
Symmetry. Look at both shoes side by side. Height, shape and stitching should mirror each other.
Size label. Make sure the size on the tongue or inside label matches your order. If you're keeping the box, check the insole and box too.
GL means green light: the item looks good and can ship. RL means red light: something's wrong and you want to return or exchange it. You'll see both all over the QC posts on r/FashionReps2.
Be realistic. Small flaws are normal, and a loose thread you can snip isn't an RL. Save RL for things you'd notice when wearing it: wrong size, wrong color, a crooked logo, a stain or a damaged part.
What you can do after an RL
Act fast. Under China's consumer protection law, online buyers can return an item within 7 days of receipt without giving a reason, and the buyer pays the return freight. Custom made items are excluded. With an agent, receipt usually counts from warehouse arrival, so the clock starts when your item lands.
Open a return or exchange request at your agent right away, before anything ships internationally. Point to the listing link and the QC photo that shows the problem.
Expect to pay domestic return shipping, and possibly an agent fee. Older Superbuy terms (2019) asked for requests within 5 days of warehouse arrival and charged a 10% service fee, with one free return or exchange per month. Check your agent's current page, because these terms change.
If only the size is wrong, ask for an exchange instead of a refund.
If the seller refuses, contact your agent's support. Many smaller Weidian sellers don't accept returns, so it's worth checking before you order.
Once a parcel has shipped abroad, agents generally can't return it. That's why QC matters.
Ask the community before you decide
Not sure if it's a GL? Post your QC photos on r/FashionReps2. Include all the photos, the item link, the size you ordered and the size chart, and say what you're unsure about. People who own the same item can tell you whether a flaw is normal for that seller. Check the sub's rules for the post format first.

Can I ask for more QC photos?

Which agent should I pick?
All three are on the trusted agent list of r/FashionReps2. Not sure? Start with Superbuy. The item price comes from the seller, so it's the same everywhere. Agents differ in service fees, coupons and shipping lines, so compare them in our shipping estimate.
What does tax free mean?
On a tax free line the agent covers the import tax, so usually nothing extra is due when your parcel arrives. On other lines you may have to pay import tax and fees on delivery.
How long does shipping take?
Usually 7 to 25 days from the warehouse, depending on the line and your country. Express lines are faster but cost more. Our estimate shows the time for every line.
Is this legal?
Buying clothes from Chinese shops for yourself is normal online shopping. Copies of branded items are different: customs in many countries, including the EU, can hold or seize parcels with copied logos. For personal orders the usual worst case is losing that parcel. Plain basics and blanks without logos are not affected. Rules differ by country, so check yours.
How do I pay?
You pay the agent, never the seller. Agents accept cards and other common payment methods, you see the options and any fees at checkout. You pay twice: first the item plus a small domestic shipping fee, later the international shipping once your haul is ready.
Why are there two prices?
The ¥ price is the seller's price in China. The other one is the same amount in your currency, so it's one price shown two ways. You pay it to your agent when you order. Shipping comes later, when your haul is ready.
What if the size is wrong?
Check the size chart on the listing and compare it with a piece you own, in cm. If it still doesn't fit, most agents let you return or exchange it at the warehouse before it ships, usually for a small fee. Once your parcel is shipped, returns are hardly possible.
Not much, but it helps to know. If an item is out of stock, the agent refunds you to your agent balance, and you can use it or withdraw it. Items only stay in the warehouse for free for a limited time, often around 90 days, so ship before that runs out. Parcels can get lost or held by customs, especially with brand logos. Most agents sell shipping insurance for a small fee, which pays back part or all of the cost. Returns and exchanges are only possible before your parcel ships.
How long does everything take?
Usually 2 to 4 weeks in total: a few days until the item reaches the warehouse, a day for QC photos, then 7 to 25 days of shipping depending on the line.

From agent warehouses, taken when other buyers ordered the same item. They show the real product instead of the seller's ads.

Hosting
coppd runs on Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc., USA). To deliver the site, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address, browser and the page you open. This is needed to show the site and to protect it against attacks (Art. 6 (1) f GDPR). Cloudflare is certified under the EU US Data Privacy Framework.
Stored on your device
We don't set tracking cookies. Your browser's local storage keeps only what you choose to keep: saved finds, your haul, saved and recent shops, currency, country, language, size inputs, your privacy choice and, if you share community answers, a random device ID. You can delete it any time in your browser settings (§ 25 (2) TDDDG, strictly necessary for features you ask for).
Community answers
When you share a vote, your size or a delivery time, we store your answer on our server with a random device ID, so you can change it later and everyone sees real buyer stats. We store only what you send: vote, height, weight, size and fit, or country, shipping line and days. No account, no name, no email (Art. 6 (1) f GDPR).
Answers are deleted after 12 months. To stop spam we count answers per IP address and day, but only as a hash with a key that changes every day and is then deleted, so your IP address is never stored in readable form. Saving a find or tapping Buy is counted only as a number per find, without any ID.
Statistics
Only if you agree, we count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics. It uses no cookies and doesn't build profiles. You can change your choice at any time with Privacy settings (Art. 6 (1) a GDPR).
Product images and QC photos
Product images, shop listings and QC photos come from Chinese shops, GTBuy and Qualit.ly. We load them through our own server, so these services don't see your IP address.
Links to agents and shops
Buy and sign up links take you to shopping agents like Superbuy or GTBuy. Some links contain our partner code. Once you leave coppd, the privacy policy of that site applies.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correction, deletion, restriction, data portability and to object, and the right to complain to a data protection authority. We store no names, emails or accounts. Community answers are linked only to a random device ID, not to you as a person. Contact us if you want them deleted.
