How to find items on Weidian and Taobao: image search and links
Got a photo, a few words or one listing? Here’s how to turn it into a link your agent can buy.

To find items on Weidian and Taobao, start with what you have. Got a photo? Use Taobao image search: the camera icon in the search bar of the Taobao app. Got a rough idea? Search in Chinese. Weidian is harder to search, so there you usually start from a shop or item link.
Once you’ve found it, copy the link, save it and open it at your agent with our link converter. Check the item, size and price there before you pay.
Taobao image search step by step
- Save a clear photo or screenshot, cropped so the item fills the picture.
- Open the Taobao app and tap the camera icon in the search bar.
- Take a photo or pick the saved one from your album.
- Open the closest results and compare them.
Taobao calls this Pailitao. Alibaba says it returns visually similar listings, so treat the results as candidates, not exact matches. If they’re off, try another angle or a plain background. The app may be in Chinese. Its App Store listing says an English version is out in some countries (as of October 2026).
Image search at your agent
On a computer, Superbuy and JoyaGoo both have an image button in their website search bar (as of October 2026). JoyaGoo takes JPG or PNG files and only shows results from Taobao, Tmall and 1688, so Weidian items won’t show up there.
Search with Chinese keywords
Taobao search gives better results in Chinese. Describe the item in a few words, translate them and paste the Chinese into the search bar. A plain grey hoodie is 纯色 (plain, one solid color), 灰色 (grey), 连帽卫衣 (hoodie). Start with 灰色连帽卫衣, then add or swap one word at a time.
- Keep it short: a color and an item type are enough to start.
- When a result is close, copy words from its title and search again.
- Sort by sales or price to line up similar listings.
- JoyaGoo’s website search translates what you type into Chinese by default (as of October 2026).

Browse the seller’s shop
If you like one listing, check that seller’s shop for other colors or similar pieces before you search the whole marketplace again. On JoyaGoo’s website you can paste a shop link into the search bar and sort that shop’s items by sales or price (as of October 2026).
How to find items on Weidian
Weidian works differently. Weidian’s own site pitches it to sellers as a way to open a shop on WeChat and share it with their own customers. Its app is Chinese only and presents itself as a community for hobbies like plush dolls and anime.
Agent searches don’t help much either. Superbuy’s tutorial says its keyword search shows Taobao, Tmall and JD.com products, and JoyaGoo’s keyword search only covers Taobao, Tmall and 1688. Get a link your agent can use
In the Taobao or Weidian app, open the item, tap share and copy the link. You may get a short link inside a block of text. On a computer, copy the address from your browser. Full item links look like this:
- Taobao: item.taobao.com/item.htm?id= followed by a long number. That number is the item ID.
- Weidian: weidian.com/item.html?itemID= followed by the item ID.

Is the listing still available
- The link opens and shows a price. If not, the item might be gone, need a login or not be available at your agent.
- You can select your size and color. An option you can’t pick, or one with no stock, isn’t available.
- There’s a price for your exact size and color, not just a starting price.
Our converter doesn’t check stock, and stock can change after you pay. Ask your agent what happens if your item sells out.
Compare listings of the same item
Image search shows several listings that look alike. Compare more than the main photo:

| Price | The price of your exact variant, plus shipping to your agent’s warehouse. |
Keep the original link
Save the original Taobao or Weidian link, not just the agent link. You need it to try another agent, to check the listing again when your QC photos (your agent’s photos of your item) come in, and to show support what you ordered if something’s wrong.
One thing before you order: items with fake logos are trademark infringement. Customs can seize them (see the European Commission), and in some countries, like France, even buying them is illegal.
